At the heart of Me & She Doulas lies a profound commitment to mothers of color and families. We aim to bridge the gap in access to essential doula services and childbirth education, so we can elevate birth experiences and parenting transitions for all families in Greater Cincinnati.
Whether you're preparing for the transformative experience of childbirth or wondering how to best navigate the postpartum phase, we have the insights and expert guidance you need to confidently embrace each step.
While I believe laboring mothers intuitively know what to do and when- I also believe we are gifted with intuition and knowledge to offer support as doulas.
Awaiting landing I’ve been reflecting on a recent client experience where her body was speaking that it needed some support before and ultimately at birth. Prenatally we brought together a mini tutorial on body balancing to assist a group of our clients. Yes breech is a variation of normal in birth! It can also be a sign that the pelvic and uterine ligaments are twisted or torqued.
While laboring our baby had a hard time dropping into the pelvis. And Mom experienced lots of back labor. Observing her let me know she had not yet crossed into the space where her baby was ready to be born. But yet again that space we sit in with our clients we get to observe where they need support in which my spirit felt called to continue balancing exercises during labor. As we moved through these exercise is when we observed her drifting into that labor space behind her eyes.
And while we began to notice these changes after supporting her body needs- I remember holding her belly up for lift and tucks and watching her away to labor land.
Her baby was born just a few hours later and she raised her hand in victory of her VBAC.
